If I am trapped in a situation where I am going to be bored for a while, such as having to sit in a waiting room, I have a mental exercise where I create a doomsday plan. Sometimes it will be a zombie apocalypse, but it could be nuclear war, a large natural disaster or even something more immediate like making an exit strategy if someone runs into the room with a shotgun.

I'm not a prepper or anything like @pembo, it's just a thing I've done for as long as I can remember. So yeah, what is your doomsday plan, whatever your chosen doomsday scenario may be?

Hard mode: it can't include the words "Winchester" or "pint".

grab my bike or else just run and get as far away from the city as i can as fast as i can. carry as light of a bag as possible while still having water and/or water filter, a couple basic tools (saw, hatchet, swiss army knife), one set of my warmest clothes, and my little chess board. people are pretty friendly around here so if they are still friendly, after a hundred miles or so i start looking for a farm i can work on for shelter and food. otherwise i make for the woods and hope for the best.

also, i always make note of exits when i enter rooms, particularly crowded places in case of fire or gunman. i don't mind being first to die but i'm not getting trampled to death or trapped.
