I see so much entitled selfish small minded behavior that I don't imagine you would see 50 years ago. Feel free to tell me this is wrong but explain why the individual should come first please.

I think longer ago you relied on your surroundings more to simply survive. In the netherlands for example after WW2 we had to buildup the country for about 3 decades. Everyone was suffering from shortages or bad housing etc but you had to work together to overcome them and get your shit together.

These days we are pampered, shops are stocked with all kinds of things, all you need is the interwebz and a credit card. People don't even realise how good they have it, they mostly have their parents to thank for that ironically.

So is it a failure on the parents part to warn them that this wealth and ease is only obtained by working together? Here in America the entitled look at me and see how special behavior is overwhelming to me. I want to shake these stupid fuckers and tell them to cut their damn hair!

Yeah "the snowflakes" and princesses. Those are created by their parents for sure. They never tell them "No" they hand them everything on a platter. If they don't get what they want they throw a tantrum and force drama to get their way. Everything is always external to blame for basically anything, no selfreflection, way to handle critism or even different opinions... Spoiled fucking selfentitled brats...

That is the very fucked up side/part of this generation on your side of the pond.

Fortunatly the Dutch are very blunt and direct by nature (outsiders might see it as harsh), so we will say basically anything straight to your face. This discourages "snowflake behavior" a lot. Also our youth has a very high percentage of sporting club subscribers. Teamplay and sports has no place for princess like behavior.

Our society has gone more "to the right" as well though in lots of issues over the last decades.
