We (group of around 6-8) originate from /v/modernpowers on voat. We saw voat getting more and more a right wing circlejerk with inactive admins. (the 9 week no subverserequest handled as a prime example) Which made it hard for us to recruit players. (turns out racists especially dont make good players :/ )
For now on voat brigading seems to be normal, admins seem to not give a fuck and discussions are impossible if it has anything to do with worldview or politics. The place has barely original content and the ones that actually do try to post diverse content get assholes following them around or just blatantly brigaded!
We individually tried to reach out multiple times to the admins with ideas and offers to help but never got awnsers back. With voat declining even further with every hate sub being dumped on the site we saw that voat was maybe not worth investing in (content/community). We discussed the possibilities and took some advice from Bender and here we are!
We are looking to build a community based website with free speech and active admins whom support and motivate the communities.
Currently we are 3 founders and about twenty contributors. We are open to any ideas, suggestions and help from others.
Depending on contribution and assistance we are also willing to assign admin positions to loyal contributors/moderators. (even shares if we ever become profitable)
Our main aim would be to poach from reddit, rather then voat for new users. (we wouldn't want to unnessary damage voat, or pull their drama over to us.)
Anyway good to see you turned up, and I hope you like our idea!
Edit:
Maybe an extensive reply but I needed to formulate this for myself to
