I browse exclusively on my phone and the current layout has been less than stellar in regards to compatibility.

oh yeah, we are actually still using the layout from the first couple weeks of the build and we've been stuffing stuff in as we go. Now that we have an awesome (thankyou btw) set of posts and links for a good test site, we can start testing new layout options.
We've also talked a mobile subdomain with expandos and other clutter removed. A sleeker, faster, low data version of the site.
