I have been to the site, and read anything that I happen across regarding it. As far as I am concerned, it is pretty obvious they were absorbed into a local friendly tribe. Well, most likely the last few survivors. Something I learned a year or so ago was that there was another settlement attempt before the 'lost colony' only the ship encountered bad weather and the captain abandoned the passengers somewhere on the Outer Banks.
