Emma: A Victorian Romance first caught my eye at a local anime convention that I attended one year. Walking over to the 3 screening rooms they had for just showing anime around-the-clock, I was intrigued by one set in Victorian London, and uncommon setting for anime. I thought the art and slow pacing were very well done (I rather like slow pacing, when its done right), and decided to purchase it.

I later found out that Mori Kaoru was the author of the original manga the anime comes from - she is almost certainly the best manga artist I have ever encountered.

I very heartily enjoy the series; from what I can tell, there is no official dubbed version - only subtitles are available.
