I'm not really sure what they expected. I spent some time in downtown seattle on business trips and ended up walking to my hotel late at night. That gets to be a pretty fucking rough area after midnight, even just a few blocks from high-end hotels and businesses. I was mugged once for $100, was confronted with with pimps and hookers multiple times, saw a lot of fights.
You'd think these coddled little shits would have expected to be overrun by more powerful criminals lol.
