If you take an Amish guy and drop him in the middle of Nebraska with no food, money or water, he'll likely survive. If you did the same with say 5 Google engineers, they would likely die before the sun came up. Not everyone has to be a farmer, but everyone needs to know how to care for themselves without a government. Civilization breaks down when it start requiring civilization to simply exist
The google engineers can google the knowledge and everyone is able to handle a hoe and shovel. Maybe not the most efficient farmers, but enough to not starve.
What if there are no hoes and shovels? Can those programmers forage for the metals required to make those devices?
