I'm still going to maintain my (recently remade) Tumblr blog, before anyone asks that. Same username. I'm simply curious what questions you all might have for me, since I see people from Reddit and Voat doing this thing.

Tumblr might be pretty different from any of these sights, but it's worth a shot.

broccoli or cabbage?

Cabbage. At least it can be made into sauerkraut... Broccoli is something I have no clue how to cook and make it taste good.

Heresy! Heathen! We shall exterminate you along with all the puny cabbage lovers!

/s/broccoli will rise

Your phrasing makes it sound like you found Phuks on Tumblr.

How?

Someone mentioned it in the chat and I decided to go searching for myself.

Granted that person was programming language literate to the extreme and all I know is Hex color codes, so I'm not really sure what to expect in that sense.

I've tried learning HTML and similar at least.

Honestly, I think this is a new one for this site, coming from Tumblr. We've had reddit, we've had voat, we've had google searches and a couple other odds and ends. Tumblr surprises me the most. Welcome aboard!

Where do your interests lie? What's your niche? What drew you to Tumblr in the first place?

Thank you very much!

Most of my interests are history, fandom, and writing- though to be honest I find it hard to dislike or hate things, so try any subject and I'll probably have something positive to say about it. Whether I'm well informed or not is another question entirely though. I'm not very familiar with religions beyond Wicca (my current) or Protestant Christianity (how I was raised) for instance.

As for what originally drew me to Tumblr... Oh gee. Hetalia and my interest in history that came with it. Yahoo came in and ruined things, I left a while, and then I recently decided to restart again armed with the New Xkit to fix some of the changes.

I never went to Tumblr as I never had a use for it--other than some gif loops of varying quality, of course. I wasn't aware that Yahoo bought it and tinkered. Nothing stays the same for long, I suppose.

If you like history, pay attention to /s/HistoryAnecdotes and /s/TheGrittyPast. We have a user named @LockeProposal that posts once per day to each, there's always something interesting to read there. /s/History gets a good volume of posts, too. Got a bunch of history buffs around here.

Thanks for the mention!

I'm about to post my daily stuff, just finishing up with some messages <3

Cool I haven't seen Hetalia but I have seen some people drawn to the micro national community through it. Whats your opinion on Micro nations?

How do you feel about robbing people at gun point and why are taxes exactly the same?

Robberies are one of those things that are usually a product of sheer desperation to survive. Or, on occasion, the person has become so accustomed to a criminal lifestyle that they just don't care anymore. or both. the key is to figure out which of those three it is and act accordingly.

I get the sense the taxes are unfair in that wealthy people should be charged more- they can certainly afford it. But I wouldn't know how to go about actually changing the system.

[–] X175B247 2 points (+2|-0)

>taxes are unfair

>wealthy people should be charged more

This is one of those scenarios where you get to pick one. Have you ever read Ayn Rand or owned a business? I'd like to know a general age range for you as well.

What is your stance of firearms?

I can understand single shot at a time (or at all) simple pistols and rifles, but even revolvers need to get the boot in my book. much less semi-automatic or automatic weapons.

That's what the US founders assumed as single shot weapons. Hell, they assumed flintlocks! They had no way to predict those sorts of engineering advances.

[–] Siedge 4 points (+4|-0)

Now I hate to be that guy but, usually when someone has a view like that it stems from a lack of education on the subject (I have plenty of things I don't know about this just happens to be one I am hugely interested in). Usually a lot of media propaganda is used to get these views.

There were already automatic weapons back then, contrary to popular belief. See the Belton Flinklock. Not even just semi-automatic. It was an automatic rifle. Plus cannons were allowed to be carried by private citizens.

Another thing is, in American guns save more lives each year than firearms (Look at the defensive usages of firearms in america) secondly gun crime has been trending downward in america for quite sometime. Where in countries where guns are banned (Australia and the UK) things like rapes, stabbings, and even gun crimes are trending upward.

Think mass shootings are an issue? Mass shootings barely make the statistics here in america, you are talking about a small fraction of the violent crimes. In-fact the terrible city of Detroit had the same amount of murders as america had mass shooting deaths (Same meaning within 5 percentage points)

Point being the war on guns works as well as the war on drugs. It's stupid and everyone winds up upset and things just get worse.

[–] Adhdferret 3 points (+3|-0)

Single shot at a time? I guess you mean black powder rifles?

I find it amazing that for laws such as the second amendment I always hear people claiming of the era in time as to what it is supposed to mean or how I am to interpret it, but when it comes to the 1st no one says shit about things such as Twitter, or Facebook being covered.

The argument of "advancement" is just silly speak for the normal people that are incapable of personal thought.

They knew damn good and well what advancement would happen. These were the smartest men of the time pretty much.

The second amendment is to ensure that we as citizens have a way to defend ourselves of a tyrannical government. You know like the one that the original Americans got away from?

Either way I do things differently than most. I build my own firearms so I don't have serial numbers on them. They don't exist as a gun at a gun store would. I quite like it as well.

See I realized that pretty soon you will have your way, and to me that is just history and inevitable as history repeats itself with government assuming control of it's subjects and the attempted control of revolution.

Thing is I know I can't take the all on, but at least I won't just give up.

...

Well, I vehemently disagree with that, but you choose cabbage so I guess we can still be friends.

That's what the US founders assumed as single shot weapons. Hell, they assumed flintlocks!

A man named Joseph Belton claimed he had invented a flintlock that could fire 8 rounds in 3-8 seconds, and could get it up to 16 or 20 rounds in 5-16 seconds.

He attempted sell them to the Continental Congress, but after letting him modify a few rifles they ultimately decided it was too expensive.

This was in 1777, almost 10 years before the 2nd Amendment was written.

Edit: there was also the Cookson Repeater, a 9-shot flintlock rifle made in Boston in the 1750s, and Kalthoff repeaters were around Europe in the 1600s.

Oh. Now see I hadn't heard of that.

... Now that I listen to all y'alls arguments and do the research to back it up, I'm actually not sure what my stance on guns is?

It's a difficult subject for me because of my personal history anyway.

[–] CDanger 2 points (+2|-0)

Private citizens owned cannons and artillery shells back then. I'm sure they imagined the path that weapons could take, and it really wasn't until the mid 20th century that restrictions on gun ownership started to creep in. I'm not going to pretend to be a constitutional lawyer (since you'll find plenty of blowhards on both ends of the debate claiming the intentions are clear), but at least the history is fairly unambiguous.

Do you foresee the sudden risk aversion in the US stock market continuing its progress towards a recession? Some have expressed concerns about Italy's credit after Mattarella's authoritarian blockade of anti-EU parties from taking control of their legislature. Part of me thinks this is tangential to the swelling value of treasury bonds in the states, but its hard to say due to my limited global perspective on the topic.

I have no training in economics, and I have an even more limited perspective.

I wasn't even aware this stuff was happening.

[–] Sarcastaway 7 points (+7|-0)

Right on. Frankly I would have called bullshit on anyone who claimed to have an answer to that, so I guess you passed my tounge-in-cheek test. Welcome to Phuks!.

[–] [Deleted] 1 points (+1|-0)

its an out of date question anyway. the us stock market is years from the last sudden spike in 'risk aversion' and the resulting recession was mild to say the least. italy's credit has been in question for the better part of a decade. the correlation between the swelling value of treasury bonds in the states is correlated to uncertainty everywhere but europe just like some 7 years or so ago. y'know, because america doesn't invest in europe. it invests in asia. because only idiots would invest in europe. 1v1 me breh.

I don't mean to sound dumb, I knew of Tumblr by name only, but have no idea what it's used for. I looked and I see it for short blogs. What interests to you blog about, if I might ask.

My blog is sort of a semi-personal space, and quite disorganized. I'll generally post about my current interests and personal happenings in my life.

Fandoms are a large part of that, especially things like Homestuck and Hetalia.

And admittedly Hetalia gets a lot of hate- it's just meant to be funny, people. Nothing else.

I had to get that off my chest because so many people hate on it. I know it's historically inaccurate and etc.

[–] Owlchemy 3 points (+3|-0)

Cool ... none of which interests me - LOL - but cool!

At any rate, welcome aboard. This is a great place to hang out if you choose to. Enjoy!

Porn.

[–] Owlchemy 0 points (+0|-0)

Makes sense - LOL. I always thought it was a 'gay' thing.

[–] [Deleted] 1 points (+1|-0)

another fucking tumblarian? I swear I was the only one.

DONT YOU KNOW THE FIRST FUCKING RULE OF TUMBLR? SHIT.

[–] [Deleted] 1 points (+2|-1)

A: How do posting your feelings and thoughts empower or encourage you to be a better person?

2: Do you feel empowered and encouraged through posting your thoughts, and why?

B: Looking back, would you have shared less?

I tried a private journal, but I'm the kind of person that needs consistent feedback on things in order to improve myself. I also rather enjoy giving other people feedback and encouragement.

The one thing I would have maybe done is researched more before saying my opinions. I have a form of Autism, and understanding other people doesn't come easily even though I try my best at it.

Thank you and I appreciate your response. It applies to many of us, regardless of diagnosis or ego.
