A solar eclipse is when the moon flies in front of the sun's spotlight and casts a shadow on the Earth.

A lunar eclipse is the opposite, it's when the sun flies in front of the moon.

In the GLOBE MODEL, the sun is trillions of miles away from the Earth, while the moon is only a few thousand. In order for the sun to ever be in front of the moon in this model, the sun would have to fly so close to the earth that we'd all burn to death.

Lunar eclipses only make sense in a flat Earth model. As you can see here, the moon and the sun have about the same distance from the Earth in the flat model. Keep in mind that this model is not 100% accurate, the sun and the moon aren't attached to the same ring.

In reality, the moon's ring is slightly crooked from when Earth was pelted by meteorites thousands of years ago when God was destroying the city of Sodom. This way, the moon will sometimes be slightly further or slightly closer to the Earth than the sun is, and when they're in the same longitude and latitude positions, a lunar or solar eclipse will occur depending on the moon's altitude.

Of course, as the Mayans predicted, one day an eclipse will occur when the moon and the sun are at the same elevation, causing them to crash into each other. This event would be completely different than any other eclipse we've had before in history and may end the world, thus why a different word was invented for it. Instead of an eclipse, astronomers refer to this even as an "apocalypse".

Aaahh, it hurts my eyes even thinking of this.
