It is kind of like naming a species Fred because this guy Fred is the first thing you think of whenever you see any member of the Fred species.
He has a freaking species named after him.
At some point they will give it a name I'd think. Although there has been indications they want to keep some mystery around the 'Yoda Species'.

Yes, I have been watching the Mandalorian and I think it has been pretty good so far.
But I have always been interested in Yoda's species, I always thought Yaddle was goofy as hell.
I don't know much about Yaddle, I've read a lot of the EU but not where she is involved.
I also like the direction the Mandalorian is going. I'm big fan of Filoni's work and so far he's meeting my expectations. I wish they'd give him Kathleen Kennedy's job.
Yaddle was a council member in The Phantom Menace. I don't think she did much. Just sat there and looked derpy.
I am optimistic that Mandalorian will continue to be good, but it is pretty early in the series and Disney has shown they are good at fucking things up.
It's like having a human named Human.
