im sure that a well-to-do, connected, educated white guy's life is over because of this. he's certainly been dragged through the mud for extremely questionable reasons but in such a toxic, politicized situation, hyperbole may not be the best route.

He should give up the nomination, at this point it's just not happening and they will continue to hound/embarrass him. The last and probably only nominee to have this level of public scrutiny/embarrassment was Clarence Thomas back in 91.
