As far as I can tell the concept is mostly about having your exhaust gasses lowered to atmospheric pressure before exiting the plane. As well, you want their temperature lower and their flow extremely straight.

Combine that with decent supersonic aerodynamic shape and you're in business. Of course it's harder than just typing it here and exceedingly expensive and precise to do all this well.

Can't wait for the next decade of aviation.
