I've always thought that attempted suicide charges were some of the dumbest charges. Person clearly needs mental help but let's throw them in jail instead and most likely worsen their mental state.

Maybe because it's still "attempted murder" though? Just a thought since, you know, that's illegal no matter who the victim is.
