/u/Mario mentioned the NES Remix on Wii U to me the other day, basically snippets and stuff from 16 NES games. It struck me that a lot of the games on there aren't really what you'd consider to be great titles.

Here is the list in question.

My top 16 in no particular order would probably be:

  • Metroid
  • The Legend of Zelda
  • Contra
  • Ninja Gaiden
  • Castlevania
  • Rad Racer
  • Tetris
  • Gremlins 2
  • Chip N Dale

-Dragon Warrior

-Final Fantasy I,II

-Blades of Steel

-River City Ransom

-Double Dragon

-Ninja Gaiden II,III

I really like Tetris on my game boy, but never got into it on the NES.

I considered putting Crystalis in my list. That game was way ahead of its time.

Not sure I can remember that many now. Nes period for me was all about cars, drinking and girls, I didn't get into gaming or computing more until I was over 30 and most games for Nes and Snes I'd take turns with friends on, even the single player stuff.

I did play a lot of the first Zelda and the second one as well(taped the button down here to level up). Double Dragon I remember and the Mario games. Punch-Out was another one I was good at.

I'd change out bomberman for gradius kid icarus because I never played them but I'd say that's the same list I'd make.
