There was no rain, I just water them every other day with a quart of water per potter. The long troughs only need as much water as the deeper pots because lettuce and arugula roots are super duper shallow and beet roots tap deep. I haven't fertilized since planting over a month ago. I just mixed in a few tablespoons of slow release osmocote and it still seems fertile. It was cold last week and warmed up again this weekend, so maybe that sparked the bloom.
