Transcribing a very old book

So tonight, I decided to start transcribing an old book I inherited after my grandpa passed.

From the minimal amount of info I'm able to glean. It was hand written by my great, great, great, (great?) grandpa around the end of the 19th century.

The book is titled The Hermit of Shut In Valley. It starts out in northern Arizona along the Grand Canyon during the year 1888.

I haven't read it yet, so I'm learning the tale as I progress. I struggle with reading other people's handwriting so it's been a slow process with some guess work and assumptions.

But I thought I might share this journey with you all.
