My package of various screw arrived yesterday and I have the next week off.

Its time to transfer my build from my NZXT caseto my Thermaltale X9

I still get nervous when messing with my hardware like this. But I feel confident enough that this will work out with minimal hassles.

Edit 1 [one hour]: Well, most of the easy part is done. I got most of the fans out at least. Ran into a snag removing the PSU and a spatial restraints due to the motherboard. I also apparently dont have proper fan mounting screws.

Edit 2 [two hours]: rotated the CPU cooler 90 degrees to work with the horizontal orientation. transferred the mobo and psu. Figured out some work around for the fans. https://i.imgtc.ws/1ejTS2w.jpg

Edit 3: I'm apparently missing the bracket to hold the hard drive caddy. Brain storming a solution.

Edit 4 [?? Hours]: awoke from my nap disoriented. Resuming progress once again.

Edit 5 [8 hours]: I basically have everything reassembled, at least I dont think I'm missing anything. I have some cables to wrangle in and make sure they dont get sucked up in a fan. But other than that I'm nearly ready to test it. Had some trouble getting the GPU to fit into the back slot. I bent some of the case and still have a few mm clearance. But it shouldn't be going anywhere while mounted vertically. Also haven't yet determined a solution to anchoring the drive caddy. I may just let it sit https://i.imgtc.ws/EZwZZXC.jpg

Edit 6 [9 hours]: SHE LIVES! the only real issue was the front top 200 mm fan obstructs part of my front panel from latching. Also my GPU gave me a heart attack by not spinning. But apparently that's not uncommon until they heat up. I'll continue to monitor that. I also... found a switch on my GPU? I haven't googled it but so far can't figure out what it does. Its simply labeled area access.

Final edit, for now: https://i.imgtc.ws/ta84L13.jpg

GPU is working fine. Everything is going smoothly. This whole process was much much easier than I thought. Tomorrow I'm gonna clean up the cables some more. And eventually replace most of the fans for the blue for intake red for exhaust color scheme I've been planning. Or just go all red and make a Doom Box. Thanks for joining me on this journey.

found a switch on my GPU

That is special...

I learned it's for alternative bios settings, Or something of the sort.

Also learned (too late) that I absolutely should NOT have toggled it while my pc was on. TiL.

I've generally learned not to hit switches when I don't know what they do. The older Wii devkits had a few dip switches on the front and they sent out a warning not to use them because they could brick the devkit

Thankfully it doesn't seem to have done anything at all. But I've learned a solid lesson.

There's so much room for activities!

I've had a few ideas of what to do with that. Possibly some sort of fight seen with action figures. Perhaps a platypus. I really like the idea of a disco ball though

I'm happy it's worked out so well!

Thank you, me too! I always have some sort of unexpected problem occur. And although I had a few crop up, nothing that I couldn't over come.
