Chrono Trigger, despite being released twenty-two years ago(!), still has one of the best soundtracks ever in gaming. It remains one of the best games I've ever played, and is among my favorites. Everything, from the compelling story, the excellent graphics, the amazing sound design, and all the interesting gameplay elements, keeps it a classic years later, and a must-play for almost anyone who cares about RPGs.
This song, Corridors of Time, is played when you first enter the Kingdom of Zeal, a magical land in the game. Here, several major plot points develop, and much of the story also comes together where there were some question marks before. It's an interesting time in the game, and is arguably the penultimate climax.
In this vocal version of the song, Laura Shigihara's lyrics, accompanied with the work of Ryan Lafford's instrumental skills and Adriana Figueroa's voice, relates the troubles of the character Schala, a daughter of the queen of Zeal, who is troubled by her mother's lust for power. With the arrival of Crono (the PC) and his group, certain events get set in motion that makes the entire story take a huge left turn; the powerful buildup and results of the party's time in Zeal is felt for the rest of the game.
Anyway, here's a song about Schala. :p (I didn't know how to end this)
