Vote with your wallet and don't support companies that lobby and and use lawyers to bully citizens. It is one of the few recourses we still have.

We have other recourses but most people find them too distasteful. Until people collectively decide that they need to do the things that are distasteful to stop the things which are horrible, it will continue. This applies to anything, not just gaming.

We love to hate on this but most people don't understand that Nintendo MUST challenge this every time this pops up. If they do not, it sets a precedent that someone in court can point to do have any suit dismissed. If they want to keep rights to these pieces of programming and history, they have to not abandon them.

Nintendo is right to protect their property. It sucks, but they own it.

The "intellectual property" laws are entirely unjust though; they should be limited to 25 years. Since lobbyists and corrupt politicians abuse the law to enrich themselves at the expense of society, we are under no obligation to obey their unjust laws.
