I've been playing the Alpha 15 lately, and after watching a legit video on getting setup on days 1 and 2, managed to push through the rest of the week and survive the blood moon of night 7, getting through my first horde (woo)!

Wondering if anyone else has experience with the game, and what tips they might have for me. Few things I've discovered -

Tea > water, as in real life. I've been collecting Chrysanthemum and Goldenrod flowers to make the appropriate teas, and it's worth the slight bit of time and effort. I was fortunate to spawn (random gen world) in a forest biome, and by day 2 find my way to a plains biome as well.

Getting a small-medium sized town early on is great. I've spent the entire first week collecting resources and looting from this town, and getting a home base set up. I'll need to heavily fortify my current base before the next wave (this wave managed to basically destroy the entire front of my house, so wood is not going to cut it going forward), and have been working toward concrete/cement, with cobblestone as a stop-gap until then.

The blunderbuss is actually not terrible, but the ammo for it is not the easiest to make; bows are still more cost-efficient and useful, but it's a reasonable weapon. It works best when the zombies are danger-close (IE almost close enough to melee you; if you aim well, you can take them out in one shot at that distance).

Saving those eggs for bacon and eggs was definitely worth it. I should be good on food for this whole week with only ~15 raw meat found/hunted. Now the limitation is eggs, rather than the meat.
