Gary Grigsby's War in the West

Genre: Grand Strategy

Steam Link

This is sort of a sequel. There is a game called War in the East that was all about the eastern front; as you can probably tell, this one is set in the west. I didn't play the first one but it looks even more in depth than Hearts Of Iron 3 and everything I've read about it is generally positive. The only downside is the price, I think it was $70 the last time I looked at it. War in the East is probably going to be expensive as shit too, so maybe just pirate it because 70 dollars isn't justifiable.

Aztez

Genre: Strategy/Beat 'Em Up

Steam Link

Aztez has an interesting 2.5D style, but the thing that caught my eye is the strategy element. Basically there are two parts to the game, one is a kind of sidescrolling brawler and the other part is similar to CIV. You move your shit around on tiles and then fight battles in the brawler mode. I probably won't play it but I like the weird clash of genres because I can't recall ever seeing it before.

Redeemer

Genre: Top down shooter/Brawler

Steam Link

I'm not usually big on top down shooters because they all tend to be very similar and lazy in their design, but this one stands out. It looks as though there are some third person parts of the game, and the melee system looks quite varied. Visually, it is gory without being over the top, and action-filled without there being too much shit to focus on. At first glance it seems as though the world design is varied enough to not be boring, and apparently there is a level of interactivity with the environment in combat, which could be good.

Ace Of Seafood

Genre: ???

Steam Link

Not a brand new release, but I just happened to come across it. I can't even explain it, just look it up. Off it's tits.

Ashworld

Genre: Survival

Steam Link

Pixel graphics, small survival game. This could be awful but something about the style caught my eye. Looks as though it has a platformer part of the gameplay and also top down.

As a side note, The Long Dark is out of early access now. Not a new game but it looks like they added a lot more content, and as far as the survival genre goes it is one of the better games.
