Greatest comic strip ever.
And timeless, it seems.
Nothing has ever compared to C&H. I remember reading the final C&H comic strip when it was published. It was a great final comic, but it left a hole that hasn't been filled since.
I was too young to really get it when it was being published, plus we didn't get a daily paper. But I do have the complete collection at home. Getting an urge to pick it back up and start reading through it again. I just wish it was a little more wieldy[sic], it's hard to read on anything but a table.
Is the complete collection all of the comics in a single book? I used to have all of the individual paperback releases, I think there was one per year or something. Those were easy to read in bed.
No, the complete collection is three books.
If by paperback releases, there are two kinds, you can see both in this picture.
The big three in the top-left, (The Authoritative, Essential, and Indispensable - named so because they are none of these), are larger and more complete, I believe. The smaller ones at the bottom are more focused, I think. But some (like the 10th anniversary book), include little notes and stuff from Bill I don't think you get in other volumes.
EDIT: I can't read or write (changed a word).
I post this in funny, but it's less "ha-ha" funny, and more "this is the third-worst timeline" funny. Worst and second worst are Hitler/Stalin winning. You can pick the order.
