As someone with multiple patents to my name, I can tell you that a large majority of these are simply bullshit. A vast majority of the patents are never implemented, they start as a 30 minute conversation with corporate patent lawyers who turn the short conversation into a 12-30 page patent filing with various images they put together, send it out for review and file it. There was a guy at my last Big Tech job who filed an average of 50 patents per year. You can turn any hairbrained idea into a patent when you have lawyers on payroll who will happily write it up for you.
