A warm welcome to you all my dear early adapters! It fills me with joy seeing all of you phukkers here! I'll supply you with some information behind our motives and our short term plans:
Motives:
We (group of around 6-8) originate from /v/modernpowers on voat. We saw voat getting more and more a right wing circlejerk with inactive admins. (the 9 week no subverserequest handled as a prime example) Which made it hard for us to recruit players for MP (turns out racists especially dont make good players :/ ) and have normal conversations about almost anything in general.
We individually tried to reach out multiple times to the admins with ideas and offers to help but never got awnsers back. With voat declining even further with every hate sub being dumped on the site, we saw that voat was maybe not worth investing in (content/community) anymore. We discussed the possibilities and took some advice from Bender said phuk it and here we are!
We are looking to build a community based website with free speech and active admins whom support and motivate the communities. A site with diverse content where you can openly exchange ideas and discuss viewpoints. We hope to integrate many of the features that these style sites use as well as a few new ones that we're still phukking with
Currently we are 3 founders (@polsaker , @Anubis and myself) and about twenty contributors. Depending on contribution and assistance we are willing to assign admin positions to loyal contributors/moderators in the near future. (We would even give out shares, for if we ever become profitable) We are also looking into ways to "give back" towards major contributors if we start making a profit. As our community grows, our site will need to grow. We hope to include you in our development process.
Short term plans:
We aim to go "live for the public" on the 26th december. And we will be asking you to help get attention and users to our site at that time.

We aim to selectively poach some more users over the next few days to keep testing and slowly fill the forum with some basic content.

Finances:
Simply said no bucks, no phuks!
We have a starting capital that can carry us over for about half a year(dependable on traffic) We understand that revenue is an important part of keeping a site like we envision a reality. That's how the world works. We have multiple ideas for fair revenue streams towards users (none of that dataselling shit) and will always keep an open mind towards the community. We are currently setting up a bitcoin contribution system and are planning to open our webshop with fancy merch shortly. We also have ideas for a "giving gold" system, ads, VIP passes etc. We plan to roll these out in the next few weeks. If you have any thoughts or ideas about revenues do post them on /s/ideasforphuks we would be more then happy to discuss them.
To be clear, we cannot emphises this enough: - We are not doing this alone and see phuks as a team effort

Why Voat never did this is beyond me. It seems like such a solid option to keep the site afloat, and I think it will work really well here.
