I can kind of get those arguments, but I'm shocked this article doesn't touch on even recent foreign intervention causing massive instability in the region. Qaddafi was said to be creating a gold-backed currency for all of Africa, which would have been immensely helpful to the nation on a global scale...but then the US was involved in taking him down and Libya rapidly turned into a slave-trading ISIS shithole. It seems like calling out American, European and Chinese influences on the continent as a whole would be rather...you know...relevant to the whole discussion.
