Amnesty International has always been snopes-tier in my opinion: they receive a huge amount of unwarranted coverage for anything they say and strangely their statements get taken as gospel even though they're strongly ideologically driven. I think the main reason for this is they position themselves as the saviors of human rights so they can pull binary framing trick "if you're not for us you must hate humans rights and be a bad person". Humans are really bad at this kind of thinking.
