Sure they don't have pilots or maintenance crews, but Pakistan does and they use some of those same aircraft. Pakistan openly supports them, so I could see them offering military aid in exchange for some of those sweet sweet rare earth metals and lithium

They probably don't have that many, that's kind of the estimated total figure of aircraft in Afghanistan at a certain point. There's helicopters and stuff that got left there, sure, but not everything did. Flying and maintaining them is also another thing entirely, and the quality of the aircraft vs the stuff that other countries have is pretty large. Some of the planes included in that figure are literally Cessnas.
