quality journalism

DM is pretty funny really. They do a great job at stuffing their articles with a gratuitous number of pictures, and the captions are almost entirely repetitive with the article. They also make sure that each article about that person gives you all the background you'll ever need by bringing up the person's entire life story (divorces, DUIs, that time she freaked out at the papparazi taking her bikini photos on vacation, salary last year, etc).

It's not even really a pure tabloid style. It's something unique to them. It definitely feels like the authors are getting paid per word because their articles are just insanely long and a waste of time. But they do an excellent job of summarizing it all at the beginning with a paragraph of bullet points, and they strangely don't make things up and are actually one of the most factual news sources lol. Hilarious clown world overall.

That is not even remotely close to the truth. They are notorious for being pretty much the worst news source in the UK and have been for a long time.

Yes and no. They report on things with sources that are sometimes questionable. They usually give plenty of details on what those sources are, so it is up to you the reader to evaluate if that source is credible. This means they sometimes get stories wrong of course, but it also means they get stories right that aren't covered elsewhere. They're about like Zero Hedge in this regard. But the mainstream establishment media has had plenty misses like this too, so the overall theme stands that you as the reader always need to consider a variety of perspectives to try to determine truth.

But they're not one of those "See the shocking photos that prove Borris Johnson is actually an alien" tabloids.

Waily Fail - Questionable Source

"fact checkers" are seriously cringe and an argument from authority. Don't outsource your thinking to the establishment's favorite propaganda tools.

Just as the site is going downhill..

The business will certainly crash and burn into irrelevance. But I think the world is actually just a tiny bit better without onlyfans existing. So it's a net win for humanity.

Almost all porn companies are really sleazy and have sketchy business practices. The site isn't really good for anybody.

For men, it's like an addictive drug. For some very lonely men, it offers apparent companionship, but it's all fake and exploitative. Like gambling or videogames, there are "whales" who spend stupendous amounts of money on this. I doubt most of them are really proud or happy with what they're doing.

For women, it's degrading and gives a warped perspective on what's normal behavior. They're constantly encountering creeps and getting requests that cross their personal bounds of comfort but consider for the money. Like other social media, it leads to jealousy comparing to others. It's also a race to the bottom; a woman in Thailand might be super content camming for $50 per day, so rates. Young women will inevitably be competing with this and get what might seem like a lucrative trade for giving up their dignity could lead to a trap if they spend a few years camming and then have no skills for a career but now face competition from all around the world.

None of this is good for mental health. These leave marks on both men and women. Some things just aren't better commercialized.
