A site that is 100% irrelevant for actual job seekers but only for networking professionals who really don't need that much networking anyway. And after their original "spam you to death because we got your email from another user" campaign, that site and everyone there can die in a fire because I wouldn't piss on them to save their lives.
You'd be surprised how many people get hired from Linkedin.
If you're a job seeker they will send a list every day if there are matches. I joined linkedin and only left the job notifications active and all they ever sent were the daily jobs email.
The rest of it is loads of social networking and back patting.
And those are the kind of people a job seeker who is interested more in working and less in office politics, cliques, and circle-jerking should avoid. I'm paid to get work done, not suck up to anyone.
Really? Sorry that was your experience. I didn't see any postings from the sorts of water cooler places you did. I was looking for a physics gig in research/production or in mathematical modeling. The postings I saw were too often above my experience level, but they were at places where technology is more than a cool cellphone or console game or thermostat or doorbell...
Physicists and mathematicians don't last without delivering.
System provided by Microsoft! Oh, what wonderful security they have! LOLS
