Not real military MRE packs but w/e, it's food. It'll last you maybe 5 years if you keep it in a cool, dark place. You should go canned or freeze dried. Canned food (from the store) will last as long as the metal isn't compromised and freeze dried can last like 25 years.

I eat these for fun and family hiking or camping trips. I have loads of freeze dried and canned goods stashed away.

The kids really like eating them, its like a food adventure for them.

I have a freeze dryer. Way too easy and way too much fun to make my own meals for camping, etc.
