When I was a kid, my dad was somehow able to bring home gallons of the stuff. We're not talking a few gallons. Like maybe a whole 55 gallon drum's worth. A little at a time.
It's primarily an industrial solvent. It'll clean up anything oil based. Paint, grease, that nasty film that gets on the inside of your windshield that won't come off with anything else (why I bought some in the first place).
Them fumes though. Man. I just used a little bit to clean gunk off my razor (an old Gillette Fat Boy - best razor you can get, BTW). I'm a little light headed and I was around it maybe 8 minutes. Not even a quarter cup and applied with Q-Tips.
I mean, if you're into huffing, you'll probably like it. Not me, I don't see how people could do that.
So, today's lessons:
- Ventilation, dawg. Use it.
- Trichloroethylene is a great cleaner (but will eat plastics) and it's about $26 for a half liter of lab grade.
- I'm a tad lightheaded/high from it.
- It's a serious carcinogen.
That is all.
