But I don't think you ever climb using any sort of 6mm rope, or even climb with a natural fiber rope. DiGiotto's ropes are good quality, just not as thick as a climber's rope.

I always say exactly what I mean. Attempting to read anything into my comments is a wastes of your time.
It is better quality than something you'd find in a hardware store. They sell raw rope and conditioned rope. Some users prefer to treat their own rope so that it's perfect for them. Treating makes it much softer and very supple. It's worth the effort. Treating makes it feel better and smell better, too, from the organic oils. It helps them last longer.
I'm reasonable certain that it would work as well as any other 6 or 8mm jute or hemp rope you own. It's not a toy ;-)
