I'm rocking an old version of WD My Cloud 2 TB NAS with cloud access. The problem I'm concerned about is that the drives in it are HDD (mechanical, old school) and eventually there will be hardware failure.
I want to get an NAS system that uses SSDs and has a cloud access service (like My Cloud) and I'd like it to work with Plex so that I don't have to worry about my TV not supporting all the codecs, etc. etc.
My research isn't pulling up too much useful, though.
Anyone have any links?
It might not have the mount points for a smaller drive and replacing/upgrading with a same form factor drive is no small task. On top of it, the hardware and platform of the one I have is so old, they're likely to stop supporting that specific version soon. Take a quick glance at this:

It's more time than I'd really like to deal with plus if I brick it, I'll still be looking for a replacement AND my data will be gone. On top of it all, the end goal is to have a unit that will work well with Plex. I know some of the newer ones have the option built-in to support plex but I still need a unit to run and I don't want to have a full PC on all the time just to have a media server (when two are built into each Cloud NAS drive out of the box.)
Could you not replace your NAS HDDs with SSDs?
