Dr. Michael Dirr, the man is a horticulture legend and his book on woody plants is considered to be a bible in the Southeastern horticulture industry. He has elevated the popularity of plants and killed sales of others with a few sentences. He's also an entertaining speaker and has been involved in the development of numerous plants sold today.

Maybe the retired astronaut Chris Hadfield. I grew up admiring astronauts, but they really fell out of the spotlight. That guy made being an astronaut kind of popular again with the videos he would make from the ISS. We need more people like him.
No. I was only thinking over the question, that title sounds a little more impressive than the vote totals.
Also, depending on how much time you have to respond, I don't know that I could come up with an acceptable answer, as in did more people answer, "my mom" than the 2 percent that answered "Angela Merkel", for example.
