It goes back to Christian and Islamic laws against charging interest, money handling, and usury etc. Relegated to the jobs Christians/Muslims literally wouldn't do Jews were often involved in money lending. When the economy is good there was no problem. When it's bad... you blame the money men.

The "Christ killer" argument is a little more saucy. It ignores the fact Jesus willingly died and it was actually Roman's that killed him. Selling out your mates is bad. Omniscient Jesus knew he was being sold out and let it happen at the same time... huh.

While I may not support funding Israel to the tune of billions I will say not every jew is responsible for the actions of a nation state. Few people even in Israel directly influence the actions of their govt. Most people just want to be left alone and worry about their family. In this we are all similar.

My only hope is we ramp up oil production even more, withdraw from the middle east, and let NATO handle their own energy concerns.

Pretty much nailed it. My only beef with Israel is how they spend our money.

It's a weird understanding we have. We give them money to buy our weapons. A simpler solution would just be to make better weapons.

Dual citizenship is also an annoyance of mine. While we have a plethora of politicians w/ dual US/Israeli citizenship the Israeli govt. does not allow this by law. I firmly believe any politician should be entirely invested in the nation they represent.

Yeah, dual citizenship for those in office is just a stupid idea. I blame us for that one though. I can't really blame foreigners for playing by the rules we made (or didn't make).

Though it is a tricky problem. Israel offers citizenship to all Jews, or those of Jewish decent. Which means that even if an American Jew renounced their citizenship, Israel would not recognize that. That only leaves the option of denying Jews the right to hold office, which obviously holds some constitutional problems.

Doesn't even need to be so complicated. No one holding any kind of dual citizenship should be allowed in office at the highest levels. It's one of those, you're either in or you're out kinda deals.

We--at least you and I--didn't make those rules though. I can blame them for this since they are one of the largest lobbying groups in the country and use this to coordinate with academics, media, lawyers, and NGOs to create the rules that make their interference permissible. I doubt common citizens would approve of this were it not for the likes of AIPAC, JIDF, etc.
