Everything is risky. I had it done 17 years ago, no problems. I even went to work the night of the procedure. They warned me that I might need glasses for reading and close work, and I did starting about 5 years after that, but by then I was 50 and might have needed them anyway. Your mileage may vary, as they say.

TLDR You will need glasses for distance, you may experience halos, dry eyes and or pain.

I've thought about it but it sounded kind of risky.
