Conspiracy theory incoming: Roseanne was cancelled because the Connors were pro Republican(last man standing),and ran counter to ABCs stance/view. It didn't support their leanings,so they forced it off the air with a lot of drama for the views/ratings/drama generated. Or maybe ambien just really did fuck up Barrs' good thing. E: or am I just completely nuts?

This is not good for ABC, Roseanne was their highest rated show with nearly double the ratings of the next highest rated scripted show (Grey's Anatomy). Also their less than couth and immediate panic reaction does not look good from the perspective of a content creator, it basically sends out the message that they do not stand by their people and are not willing to give benefit of doubt which will in turn push more creators to consider more platforms like Netflix.

Between the soft Solo open and this, Disney shares took a hit yesterday. Although the market was down collectively anyways.
I don't think Disney had much of a choice. They would have been hard pressed to sell commercial time. The left wing shit storm and boycotting would have been out full force.
