My wife has had some awful sinus/respiratory infection lately. And my son had had ear infections really for months, but now I'm thinking he's recently caught what my wife has. They're both finally on some medicine, but my house has paper thin walls and I've been hearing an orchestra of coughing all night. I started off in my bed with the old lady, but her snores were obnoxious. She really needs the sleep, so I made my way down to the couch. I couldn't sleep, so I just listened to the creeks of the house and my poor family hack up their lungs.
I "woke up" at 4:30 and said fuck it - went outside to meditate (where the sound of coughs is replaced by birdsong) and then came inside and lifted some weights. Now I'm just chilling with an iced coffee. The lack of sleep is going to hit me hard mid day, but for now I feel good and productive.
Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.
Late to bed, early to rise makes a man tired as shit.
