When I employ people as advisors, I will occasionally listen to their advice.

They're on the payroll. You're making some effort to actually include them in discussions. They show up at meetings, usually aren't late, and know better than to ask you for free stuff.

Although you almost always know better, sometimes your advisors actually have a good idea. They had some spark of insight or perspective that actually rings true, and suddenly it sounds like Linda, or Bob, or whatever their name was, has a legitimately good way to improve your already impressive plan.

So roll with it. Don't brush it off because "it's not necessary" or because you have a God complex and think nothing can possibly improve upon your brilliant ideas. If there's a way to get better, take it.

And yeah, most of their advice will be bad. You didn't get to be an Evil Overlord because of (only) your good looks. Use your brain, don't just mindlessly go along with whatever. When it's a bad idea, say so, refuse it, and move on. But the good ideas deserve to be listened to, and possibly implemented - but only if you agree it's the right thing to do.
