This article is concerned with political authority. I was interested in reading about the justifications for authority in general so this article wasn't what I wanted, however, it could be argued that political authority, religious authority and authority of experience are forms of the same thing: a willingness to defer to someone or some figurehead. All of these forms of authority are claims put forward by the very person claiming authority. Authority of experience (knowledge) can be demonstrable, giving this form of authority some legitimacy if actually demonstrated.
