It's a weekend treat for myself. Usually drop a good amount on the bill but that is not the point. I don't remember ever telling the hostess I need a table for just one and have the server visibly deflate. I know people who don't tip at all no matter what size the party is.
I wouldn't say I'm offended, only surprised. Does the server think being noticeably upset for having just one guest is going to increase the tip? She was pleasant enough taking my order so maybe I'm just being top critical.
Everyone has bad days. Maybe today is hers.
But if this bitch doesn't come over here and refill my pop...
