Venomous copperhead snake spotted near Washington's National Mall

I couldn't think of a better place for a poisonous snake to hang out.

That is their natural range, so... it happens.

It was in the fence because it didn't want to be tread on. Passersby couldn't hear it say, "don't treat on me!"
