I'm not sure. Some will fall back if the subject is driving too recklessly. But I think it's a rare instance for the police to straight up abandon a pursuit.

no, its very common. it was standard policy here for 2 years to straight up never pursue and just wait until you see them stopped somewhere. this did not go over well.
