Why not?
What's 'proper' about youtube?
It's also proper being the origin of where the videos were posted. The ability to subscribe, up/down vote, interact with comments. There's also features missing, not the least of which (for me) is the ability to pause/play by clicking on the body of the video or by pressing space bar.
Also, give good creators the views. They work hard, they deserve it. You're contributing nothing while taking everything when you're using sites like Hooktube. Even if you're blocking ads on YT, they're still getting views.
Hooktube is a steaming pile of shit.
I don't share your opinions.
I use yt links for small channels. The big ones will do fine without. As most are learning, relying on yt income is perilous anyway.
That's why you may have been noticing a lot more sponsorship. That's where the real money comes from.
It's not like the channel is hidden or not easily accessed by anyone who chooses to.
You're contributing nothing while taking everything
That's not how it works.
I have 'taken' nothing, and I feel no obligation to 'contribute' anything. I am contributing exposure though.
So, I hear your complaint that the player is not as good, but I reject the rest as an opinion that I don't agree with.
I am going to continue to use hooktube for large channels, and channels that are hosting content that is not theirs.
Why even bother linking hooktube if it's not monetized?
