Maybe they do. If I was a squirrel, and that happened to me, I'd do it again.

I was thinking they're retarded because the same one never went twice :D!!!
but it all truth... admit it... we'd be dead at infancy with this mentality in our genetics.... the world isn't a nice place for squirrels. I named one of mine patches because he's gotten fucked up many times and has open wounds that seem to heal. get worried when I don't see him...

You're probably right. I don't think I would survive as a squirrel.
But then, statistically speaking, I shouldn't have survived my youth as a human either. Risky (stupid) behaviour seems to be a trait in my family.
Despite the odds, we not only survive, but seem to flourish. Not every Bystander has had a long life, but we almost all leave a litter of wild children to carry on the madness.
So, maybe it was an outlier daredevil squirrel going for a second ride.
