It was a pretty benign joke that was played off of in a humorous way. Is comedy really so dead that people can't make jokes anymore?

The article is not about what he said.

Richard Hammond was employed by the BBC and left after Jeremy Clarkson was sacked for punching someone after filming Top Gear.

It's just an opportunity to slag him off because they have a new show on Amazon now.

Saying that, Richard Hammond is an unfunny little manlet so I am not brimming with sympathy either.
