Still seems like there is something missing from the story.

Who knows. I doubt it's anything seriously mysterious though, but that's me.

I'm not suggesting aliens. The complete shut down still sounds odd. They arrest people for that stuff every day.

I do try to resist the conspiracy nonsense, but this stinks of weirdness.

Grab the janitor...It's always the janitor. /s

I'm gonna roll with bad police work....How do you manage to be overzealous and lazy at the same time?

I'll throw a "plausible deniability" bone to them.....someone set up a TOR exit node [poorly] at a sensitive facility and the powers that be flipped their shit.

Least plausible cover story ever. None of this justifies helicopters, closing the whole facility, or closing the post office. That had all this time to come up with a cover story and blew it.

Likely true. But there's also way too much speculation that's going to crazy lengths to explain it. Who knows. We'll likely never know the truth ... it'll become another in an endless line of conspiracy/urban legend things.

Perhaps he was a Snowden type who discovered the vast surveillance network there.
