If this is going to happen then please stop sexualizing children in their "pageants" too thanks.

As far as I am concerned, parents doing this are abusing their children.

But that was the point all along. That's like having a drag race but not judging cars and drivers by time or speed!

Miss America is a business. This will only reduce interest in the pageant, leading to lower revenues. But hey! Virtue singaling is way more important!

I agree, but I also think the world would be better without this particular mindless distraction of a business. Now there are probably many other equally vapid businesses that will fill the void, so maybe it doesn't even matter.

There is nothing wrong with celebrating female beauty. If people don't want to watch or participate then don't. It's their business, they can do what they want, but I predict it will not benefit them.

If revenue fails it will hurt the women who participate too, they also benefit from the money the contest brings in.

As stupid as this move sounds it actually makes sense, I mean when was the last time a straight man sat down and watched a "Pageant" on broadcast tv? They're just pandering to their audience which are effeminate catty gays, women who want to be mean other women, and women who want to know what beauty standard to aspire to/claim they're rebelling against.

I wonder what this will do for ratings.

Television is a visual medium, and if you remove all of the big visual elements . . . .

TV ratings have been down, even if picking up of social media (facebook, instagram, etc)

the big thing will be the revenue, of course
