16 year olds can't even figure out what they want to do for the rest of their lives. Additionally, a lot of businesses have decided not to sell guns to anyone under 21. I think gun buying age and voting age should be tied together.

To me, the following items should all be tied to the ame age:

  • Voting
  • Gun ownership
  • Military service
  • Drinking alcohol / smoking cigarettes
  • Marriage

If the government is going to arbitrarily dictate age restrictions based on supposed maturity, they should be consistent about it.

In contrast, you can join the military in the US when you are 17. I would also make the point that it's pretty normal for people in their 20's to not know what they want to do for the rest of their lives.

I saw a Progressive Insurance ad recently shaming adults whom are under their parents' insurance. ("Grow up" was the intent.)

Aren't Progressives the ones who promoted Obamacare, which ensured 26 year-olds were covered under their parents' policies?
